Wilson’s Moesha costar Shar Jackson shared the news Thursday night, tweeting, “I wanna thank all my tweeties for their prayers but god has chosen to take my sister Yvette home.”

According to NewsOne, which was the first to report Wilson’s death, the actress had faced mounting medical bills and had kidney trouble as well. A page had been created to raise money for her medical treatment and sought $25,000.

Wilson played Andell Wilkerson, a friend of Brandy Norwood’s character, on Moesha, and also appeared on that show’s spinoff The Parkers. The actress also had roles in House Party 2, House Party 3, Friday, and on Russell Simmons’ Def Comedy Jam.
